For those of us who have kids but just can't give u all the white things, there's a great homemade alternative to that harsh chemical bleach! This is safe for your entire family and will help keep your whites looking and smelling "soooo fresh!" As Oakley would say it!
Here's what you need:
3/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup lemon juice
3/4 baking soda
7 cups of Water
15 drops Lemon Essential Oil
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a half gallon container (or double it like I do) and shake to mix. Use 1 cup per load of laundry using hot water. If your clothes are in need of a bit more of a boost, you can soak the dirty clothes and solution in the washer overnight; add detergent and finish cleaning cycle in the morning. Shake before each use.
TIPS
Make sure to sort the laundry before washing for best results.
It may take a few cycles to bring vibrancy back to clothes that are already stained/dingy.
Using this bleach from the beginning when you have new whites to wash will yield the best results.
